Is it worth travelling to Estonia?

There are six national parks in Estonia, with the oldest being Lahemaa, which is home to moose, wild boar and over 220 species of bird.
When should I visit Estonia?
Late spring or summer is a fabulous time to book Estonia holidays in the countryside as the weather tends to be hot and dry throughout the day and cooler in the evenings. But if you prefer cooler daytime temperatures, spring is ideal and the scenery becomes lush and green. From mid-September onwards, the temperatures begin to drop, and the landscapes come alive with autumn colours. Unlike many other European countries, whatever time of year you visit Estonia, you won’t usually encounter crowds of tourists.
What is the traditional food in Estonia?

The country’s national dish is mulgikapsad, a heartwarming stew made with sauerkraut, barley and smoked pork which is often served with fried onions. Other favourite dishes include cauliflower cheese topped with breadcrumbs, baked apples and semla, a traditional sweet roll that originates from Nordic countries.
Where are the best places to visit in Estonia?
Without a doubt, Tallinn, the walled capital city of Estonia, should be on your itinerary. The old, cobbled alleyways give way to cool plazas and imposing buildings that tell of Estonia’s rich past. Explore places such as the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Toompae Palace and castle and Dome Church and stroll through the quiet streets of the old town. If it’s nature and wildlife that interests you, head to Lahemaa National Park to explore the pine forests, sandy beaches and beautiful waterfalls. It’s also worth visiting the capital of southern Estonia, Tartu, as you’ll get a real taste of the local culture with an array of festivals, theatre performances and concerts that are held throughout the year.
How many days are enough for Estonia trips?
There are so many wonderful places to discover in Estonia that it’s easy to spend at least a week in the country. However, if you’re visiting Estonia on a multi-destination trip then you can still see many of the main attractions and sights in two to three days.

If you’re travelling from the UK, EU or US, you would not usually require a visa to enter the country for leisure or business trips. However, these requirements are often subject to change so you should always check before you travel. Is Estonia good for cycling?
Estonia is a great place for cycling as the major roads are smooth and relatively quiet and there are lots of well-developed networks that lead you through beautiful countryside. While most of the routes are flat, there are some hilly sections which add to the thrill of the ride. Good transport links mean that it’s also easy to transfer between routes by bus.
