Jordan has been on my bucket list for a long time and this trip ticked all my boxes! It was eye-opening as we visited all the UNESCO sites of Jordan and visiting the castles, church ruins and learning about the influence from the Bronze Age, Roman, Byzantine and Umayya. The preserved Mosaics were a highlight too! Despite what is going on in neighbouring countries, we felt very safe. Sadly, due to the ongoing conflict is having an impact on tourism and locals, so the Jordanians needs us more than ever! This did mean we had most of the sites to ourselves such as the baptism site & the Treasury!
We stayed at Mujib Chalet which meant we were away from the big hotels and was able to enjoy the Dead Sea for ourselves, and it was only a few mins walk from our chalet. The sunset here was magical! The food were delicious, everyone was catered for (veggies and meat), the humous was the best we ever tried! We also visited during the harvest of olives (happens from late Oct- early Dec) so be prepared to get fresh olives wherever you go 🙂
