A cosmopolitan Alberta city with a booming oil industry, cloud-piercing skyscrapers and a flourishing food and coffee scene, Calgary has historically been famous for its Wild West roots. It may ooze Western culture – a trait that has earnt it the nickname ‘Cowtown’ – but in recent years it has become a dynamic, engaging city.
On Calgary tours, you can visit contemporary galleries, mooch around independent shops, and sample the thriving nightlife. Must-dos include stopping by Canada Olympic Park, which was the cornerstone of the 1988 Winter Olympics, and daring to whizz down the 500m-long zip line from the Olympic ski jump tower.
This was our ‘Trip Of A Lifetime’ and thanks to Exodus it exceeded all our expectations. We had always wanted to see the Rockies and our outstanding tour guide Isabel certainly ensured that we did!
