1. The Everest Base Camp Trek
Head out on the trekking expedition of a lifetime to Everest Base Camp. Hike through alpine bliss and follow in the footsteps of the great climbing parties. On this classic trek, your strenuous efforts will be rewarded with amazing views. Meeting the greatest mountain in the world, at a soaring 8848m, Mount Everest is an extraordinary sight! Nowhere else is there trekking like in Nepal, so take to new heights climbing Kala Pattar, up 5545m for magnificent vistas of the highest mountain on earth and walk through Sherpa country past fields, small villages and Namche Bazaar.
Take some time to rest and acclimatize before hiking up to majestic high-altitude scenery. After all your hard work, feel the peaceful aura of the monastery at Thyangboche, with glorious views of Everest, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam. Lhotse, the fourth-highest mountain in the world is a must-see! Feast your eyes on phenomenal uninterrupted 360 views looking over the vast mountain range.
Activity Level: This trek is level 5 and is especially challenging. Even for confident hikers with good physical fitness, the altitude may make physical activity feel more tiring than at sea level. 2. The Classic Patagonia Trek
Sprawling glaciers, turquoise lakes, and stony peaks cover the landscape with wild breezes, and Andean condors soaring overhead. Experience South America’s remarkable lagoons, grasslands, and frigid shores. Hiking Patagonia’s best regions in Chile and Argentina is an essential trip for trekking enthusiasts in 2023. Torres del Paine and the Fitzroy Massif are sure to surprise and delight. Indulge in icy bliss at Perito Moreno Glacier watching icebergs breaking from the glacier into Lake Argentino. Face the beautiful wilderness of Las Torres viewpoint in Torres del Paine National Park, basking in the glory found at the end of the world.
Onwards and upwards, hike to one of the most impressive treks in the park, the ‘base of the towers’. A lakeside viewpoint where you will gaze upon 3 gorgeous mountains standing over 2500m high. A lesser-known, must-see view on this expedition starts on your walk to Los Cuernos, the views from the edge of Lake Nordenskjold are spectacular, standing over the expansive lake with mountains all around, a moment of awe on this trip.

Activity Level: This trek is for hikers with experience on varied terrain, this is a level 5 challenging trek, and although the walking is not dangerous, you must have a good level of fitness for the long duration of treks. Keep in mind, the altitude may make physical activity feel more tiring.

3. Walking the Picos de Europa
From charming villages and jagged mountain peaks to speedy cable cars and stunning viewpoints, walking Spain’s third-highest mountain range, Picos de Europa is endlessly rewarding! Nestled in the middle of the north coast of Spain, with vast glacial lakes, rugged mountains, perilous gorges, snowy peaks, lush forests, and hidden valleys; this trek is the active adventurer’s dream!
Covered in lovely wildflowers in Spring, the country’s oldest national park is affectionately known as ‘Green Spain.’ Visit traditional mountain villages in the valleys, taste mouth-watering local cuisine, and stay in the heart of the region with views of the highest peaks from the family-run hotel. Soak in epic viewpoints at Cares Gorge, one of the most panoramic hikes in Pico’s. Walking through caves and across bridges, you can admire the limestone ridges, waterfalls, and curious wildlife. A short climb up to the ‘Collado De Los Buitres’ and its fabulous surroundings is a must, if you’re lucky you may see Griffon vultures soaring above. Activity Level: At Level 3 this trek is moderate in activity, with 5 out of 8 days spent walking. some sections of the final ascents of the peaks can be quite rough underfoot. A reasonable amount of physical fitness is required to make the most of this trip.

4. Canadian Rockies Wilderness Walk
With snow-capped peaks, sparkling turquoise lakes, and wildlife galore, it doesn’t get wilder than walking the Canadian Rockies. Stretching almost 5000km across North America, from British Columbia and Alberta in Canada through Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico in the United States of America. On this Canadian walking tour, we will take on the wilds of British Columbia and Alberta from the wonder of Jasper National Park to the famed landscapes of Lake Louise, the tremendous beauty of Banff and the showstopping panoramas of Yoho National Park. For some lesser famed, but extremely dramatic scenery, watch the sweeping water tumble down at Takakkaw Falls in Yoho National Park.
This bucket list tour is full of surprises, be awestruck by the enormous Saskatchewan Glacier and the pristine beauty of Moraine Lake. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife, as this area is native to bears, eagles, deer, and moose. Activity Level: Graded level 4, a moderate to challenging trek. This walking tour is quite active, you must have a decent amount of fitness. Marathon fit isn’t necessary but keep in mind the elevation of each hike.

5. Ladakh: The Markah Valley
On this trip, you’ll cross high mountain passes and beautiful rivers, trek through spectacular gorges and visit remote villages. India’s region of Ladakh is home to the magnificent Markha Valley. Hidden away in the northeastern corner of India, between the two highest mountain ranges in the world, the Himalayas, and the Karakorum, Ladakh is India‘s highest plateau. Savour spectacular views camping above Ganda La, sitting at 4,970m, full of colourful prayer flags and the views of Zanskar Range and Stok Mountains are ethereal. Keep an eye open for marmots and blue sheep on the way down! A winding path takes us to Tsemo Monastery, with lesser-known but impressive views of Leh and its surrounding villages.
Ladakh is one of the few places to be almost completely unaffected by western influences, a perk of touring the High Himalayas. While passing through Kaya, check out the Women’s Eco Café that Exodus assisted in renovating as part of our Himalayan Community Project.
Activity Level: The activity level on this trek is a challenging level 5. This is a reasonably strenuous hike involving seven days of point-to-point walking at quite high altitudes with a few river crossings. This trek does require fitness preparation.
