So the views were beautiful, the walks invigorating, the company a joy. But I have to comment on three things. 1) Eduardo did us wrong arranging our trip out of Bomerano. We had originally booked a private transfer to the airport but changed plans after the trip began. I sent a request to Exodus to change it but never heard back. I called and was told someone would call me back. Never happened. I asked our tour leader and he said Eduardo was in charge of that at the local level. I met with Eduardo in person and he agreed verbally to take three of us to the ferry dock. When the day came he refused on the basis of the fact that one other person who needed to go to the airport had joined our private transfer. Then Eduardo added another guy not from the tour who needed to buy or pick up something in another town along the way. When I complained that here we had all paid extra for this private transfer and we got driven through this other town in all kinds of traffic and waited while this guy did his errand, Eduardo still refused to take us to the ferry dock even though he had verbally agreed to do so. Very unimpressive. 2) I understand why the itinerary had to be updated several times due to weather BUT we could never be sure what was what because it was hard to keep in mind the details of the sometimes confusing verbal instructions we were told each night. A simple email or WhatsApp set of detailed instructions about the next day sent each evening would have solved this issue. 3) both the room by the pool where we met each evening to get our information for the next day and the dining room have the most horrendous acoustics, making it hard to hear the verbal instructions, unpleasant to dine there, and less able to enjoy our fellow traveler’s company or even the meal. Some carpeting or acoustic panels on the ceilings or meeting in a different room would have solved this.

Positano
Positano Trips
Greek legend says Poseidon, god of the sea, created Positano as a gift for Pasitea, a nymph he had fallen in love with. The beauty of this cliffside village on Italy’s Amalfi Coast is certainly worthy of the immortals − travellers have flocked here for centuries to explore the sun-drenched coastlines, picture-perfect streets and wisteria-draped properties.
This small jewel is bound to impress, with pink and peach terracotta houses and steep streets dotted with eateries and some of the most fashionable retailers in the Campania region. But you’ll also find there’s a wealth to discover on the outskirts of town whether on foot or by bike on our Positano holidays.
On our Highlights of the Amalfi Coast trip, you can explore the narrow alleyways and sun-filled piazzas of Amalfi, visiting the large cathedral before hopping on a fast boat to Positano. Taking in the vertical town views and shimmering turquoise coastlines will leave an indelible imprint on your memory, as you dock to explore this chic town for a couple of hours on foot. Find another Positano tour on our Amalfi Coast Family Adventure. Before learning how to whip up the perfect neapolitan pizza in Amalfi, enjoy exploring Positano, visiting the Byzantine Church of Saint Mary of the Assumption, or taking a refreshing dip on one of the world’s most iconic beaches, the Spiaggia Grande, before returning to Bomerano.
If you’re looking to explore more of the area on foot, our Walking the Amalfi Coast trip gives you the perfect opportunity to discover more of this picturesque town. It takes you past ancient stone houses and local shepherd huts along the Sentiero degli Dei (Path of the Gods), before descending into Positano. Or, if you’d like to discover the region on two wheels, our Cycle Cilento & the Amalfi Coast trip includes a fantastic Positano tour, taking you along the scenic Strada Amalfitana towards the pastel-coloured towns of Amalfi, Praino and Positano, with beautiful views over the whole peninsula and out to the enchanting island of Capri.

lewis Salt Walking the Amalfi CoastSimply lovely! Beautiful hikes, stunning location and a great guide!
Ruth Clarke Walking the Amalfi CoastThis holiday definitely maybe the perfect mix. There was challenging walking on the Path of the Gods along the beautiful Amalfi coast. Next we were off exploring the impressive historic remains of Pompeii and Herculaneum and daring the crater edge at Vesuvius. Happily immersing ourselves in the food and culture of the region, we were treated to artisan cheese making, cookery demonstrations and participation, limoncello tasting with the expert, and time to enjoy a gelato or three in the sunshine under the bluest November skies. It was even warm enough for a refreshing swim in the sea after conquering all the steps down to Amalfi and again at pretty Positano. The boat ride from Positano was a brilliant way to see all the villages from the sea. Add in glorious Ravello, its wonderful gardens and the breathtaking views from the path down to lovely Atrani, with a little Escher art tour as an added bonus to complete the picture. With our superb, expert guide Veriano and the warmest hotel staff you could wish for, our group of strangers quickly became a team of friends, laughing and singing our way through an extremely enjoyable excursion in Italy.
