We had a wonderful time, despite some altitude sickness and lots of driving.

Adventure Holidays in Lake Titicaca
This is the highest navigable lake in the world, and the birthplace of the Inca religion. Spanning the border between Peru and Bolivia, Titicaca has been central to various ancient civilisations for centuries. The islands of the Sun and the Moon are central to the Inca myths, and the extraordinary ruins of Tihuanaco border the lake. Now the islands of Amantani and Taquile offer an insight into how life has existed for centuries, and the floating islands of the Uros people are one of the world’s most amazing inhabited locations.
Lake Titicaca Adventure Holidays
Patricia Jane Dennison Essential Peru
Stanley Fine Highlights of BoliviaBolivia can be challenging with poor infrastructure, unpaved roads and high altitudes, but it is so worth the effort. From the lowlands to the highlands, the scenery shifts, yet it is always impressive and can be like nowhere else. From the historical district in Sucre, the mines in Potosi, the chaos of La Paz and the serenity in Lake Titicaca and especially Salar de Uyuni, it’s just one day of discovery and insight after the other.
Kasia Woch Essential PeruDuring the two very busy weeks we basically saw most of Peru – starting from Lima – making our way through the mountains via Cuzco and ending up with Lake Titicaca and Arequipa. Wonderful scenery across, tons of archaeological ruins visited along the way and we get to know Peruvian culture very well due to our excellent guide Edwind (winner of Exodus Guide of the Year 2023 for a good reason! ). Highlights for me was definitely Machu Picchu and two days we spend there, but also a wonderful Amantani Island homestay on Lake Titicaca. Staying with a local family was a very humbling and magical experience. Great trip if you want to see most of Peru in just two weeks – really comprehensive!
