My Exodus trip to Kerala and Tamil Nadu was truly amazing in so many ways. The beautiful scenery, lush green and full of fascinating wild life, the range and style of vegetarian food, and the overwhelming gentleness and warmth of the local people were all way beyond my expectations. Our outstanding guide Biju was at the heart of it all with his supreme organizational skills, endless information on every topic imaginable and, above all, his patience and kindness towards everyone in the group. The itinerary was perfect as it exposed us to so many very different aspects of the region: rural and urban settings, magnificent Hindu temples as well as Christian churches, historically important public buildings but also the homes of ordinary people going about their daily lives. A solo trip to India could never have offered such an enlightening and wide ranging experience as we gained from this trip. I would highly recommend it to others especially for a first trip to India and if they are as lucky as we were they may even have Biju as a guide too.

I had such an amazing time in Morocco. Despite taking ill, as I must have eaten something funny on the first day, I managed to power through thanks to the support and guidance from the leaders and fellow group members. The views of the desert in front of you with the Atlas mountains covered in snow in the background is amazing!
Though very sad, it was incredible to see how life has continued after the earthquake in 2023.
The tour leader, assistant leader and drivers were so friendly and extremely efficient.
Recommended for keen cyclists who are prepared to put in the pain for the gain. Not recommended for amateurs or beginners.
My first cycling trip ever and being only a recreational cyclist i was a bit worried if i’d keep up, but i worried needlessly! Anyone with a good level of fitness and the right mindset will be fine. It was humid, wet, hilly and challenging on times, but we all kept up and altogether it was a great adventure and the downhills, wildlife and scenery more than made up for it.
Reaching the top of a hill on a particularly steep section where the van was waiting with water and fruit. And then having time to enjoy the views stretching out below you with a great bunch of like minded people.
Memo was a fabulous leader, friendly, efficient, diplomatic, organised and had a great sense of humour. He was so knowledgeable about the countries we travelled through, and an excellent spotter, always stopping to point out wildlife or things of interest that i would have cycled past obliviously. He was so passionate for the wildlife and environment and his presentations were first class! Nothing was too much trouble for him and the team.
My first time to this part of the world, and it was a beautiful experience. I definitely need to revisit and spend more time in all 3 countries!
A wonderful week in Jordan. I would highly recommend this trip. Despite what is going on in other Middle Eastern countries, Jordan felt safe and it was clear that Jordan was struggling with a lack of tourists. The trip took us to such varied places in Jordan itself and I really enjoyed the mix. The group got on well and for anyone who is younger reading this – not everyone in an Exodus trip is over 60.
Petra. For me it was going into Petra alone on the second day when it opened. It was so quiet. There were some people on the walk to the Treasury but after that they disappeared. For the walk up to the Monastery I saw no one. Not even any locals or animals. I would definitely recommend doing the walk to the Monastery early in the morning when it's quiet. It felt surreal because it was like I had the place to myself. It's not something I expected and I just tried to take it all in and enjoy the experience.
Mikhled was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, calm and always willing to help and make things work for everyone. He organised the option of group dinners every night with the aim of trying a different Jordanian dish for those who wanted to go along which most of us did. He worked around people's choices so that we could fit in the optional activities for those who wanted to do them. He had a lot of patience for all the questions that we asked and the general stuff that comes with having a group of people to organise.
Water shoes help when at the beach in Aqaba and also at the Dead Sea. Loose long sleeved shirts and trousers means you don't stand out and I found actually kept me cooler than I thought. Definitely take a sun hat of some form. The family dinner option in Wadi Musa is worth it. Go a day earlier and explore a bit of Amman and adjust to the time zone as otherwise you'll find yourself arriving in the early hours of the morning for the trip to start only a few hours later. If you're in Amman on your own before or after the trip, Uber works and is cheap. Go into Petra early on the second day. Have some Jordanian diner as most optional activities had to be paid in cash - I changed mine in the UK - but nearly all restaurants took card. Laundry was only really an option in the hotels so take enough outfits for the week otherwise you're washing in the sink or paying hotel prices. I had read that the mud at the Dead Sea would stain my swimming costume. It didn't. I'd also read that the sand in Wadi Rum would stain my shoes. It didn't.
A lovely sunny week in November in North Cyprus. A very enjoyable trip with a week of medieval castles, wonderful sea views and rewarding walks through pine forests and on mountain slopes. Interesting recent history of the island too.
View from Buffavento Castle at 900 m.
Gizer was an excellent leader, knowledgeable, organised and a good sense of humour. An ambassador for his country.
Great trip. Thank you. Rania was excellent. Would have loved wifi in the rooms on the boat rather than having to sit in the reception area to work/send messages. Overall a great experience.
Rania
Madeira is a beautiful island and the hikes were just the right length to get in some good exercise but still be able to enjoy going out and about on foot afterwards.
I loved the hikes along cliff sides with views that went on for days.
Bruno was a great ambassador for his island. He was very knowledgable about its wonderful natural beauty and always enthusiastically shared his knowledge and his opinions.
Be prepared for hiking in wet weather. It probably won't rain on you for very long, but all it takes is few minutes, and you'll be wet even when the sky is then a beautiful bright blue for the rest of the afternoon.
This was an amazing trip on so many levels.
I have come back feeling energised, invigorated and really sad to leave…testament to a great hol!
I was travelling on my own and apprehensive. I needn’t have been. My group were so welcoming and friendly. We got to know each other quite quickly and had such a laugh together. We are hoping to meet up again in the New Year.
The itinerary was so varied, there was never a dull moment. Ideally 14 days would be preferable as you are packing so much in.
Animals and birds- so much to see, recommend doing Schotia game drive and whale watching. Penguins at boulders beach were brilliant.
Flora-beautiful flowers, shrubs and trees and a chance to visit the botanical gardens in Cape Town.
Food-Wow…such a variety , huge portions and cheap. Recommend the ostrich, but so many other dishes to choose from( meat or veg)
Wine-fabulous and cheap. I loved the chenin blanc. I enjoyed the afternoon in Stellenbosch too.
Landscape-absolutely stunning..Tsitsikamma, Cape of Good Hope, ocean drives and more!
Activities- so varied and you have the opportunity to choose the activities you want to do at various locations.
Guide- Marco was great on every level. He was informative, professional, catered to everyone’s needs and kept us safe.
Accommodation – I particularly liked Tsitsikamma oceanette as right by the ocean. Got woken up at 5.30am by baboons jumping on the bin outside:-). Loved House Martin and the Windsor Hotel.
Cape Town-beautiful. I visited Robben Island, 2nd half of this tour was particular good as we were shown around by an ex inmate. I didn’t get the chance to go up Table Mountain as I had to leave early. There is so much to see and experience that I will definitely return.
There were lots...game drive in Schotia, whale watching in Hermanus, staying in the oceanette cabin in Tsitsikamma; looking out at the beautiful ocean and stars, the romantic meal at House Martin with yummy home cooked food. Cape Town, so vibrant and beautiful. Really enjoyed the last night at Mama Africas..the music and dancing. Meeting my fellow travellers and Marco and sharing this wonderful adventure together. We laughed, danced and quizzed!
Marco was our group leader and he was amazing, so kind and thoughtful. He looked after us all and kept us safe. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history, geography, flora and fauna and the political situation in SA. He was very professional and informative. On nights off he would give us great recommendations for dinner. He would always go the extra mile to ensure everyone was ok. I'd give him 10/10 :)
Some power outage in Tsitsikamma in the day, power on again at 5.15pm. I took layers as weather can be changeable. Be prepared to wait for some meals...guide has this covered, we would order, wander and then come back. Don't stress if you have a car park view at one hotel as you are hardly in your accommodation. Take motion sickness tabs if you get seasick for whale watching and Robben Island
Beautiful scenic walks with rewarding views. Despite some challenging steps, it was way worth it to soak in the surroundings of the coastline.
Along with great food and great company, couldn’t ask for more!
Reaching the top of Vesuvius and exploring the crater of one of the world's most famous volcanoes.
Veriano was great! He took care of the group on the walks and answered any questions we had along the way. We also had some real laughs despite challenges on the way. He was very patient and understanding and this allowed for a great week!
Hiking Shoes with good ankle support. There are a lot of steps on some of these walks, so please bare that in mind. Layers for travelling during the winter months.
This was my second wildlife oriented trip with Exodus and it did not disappoint. There is some long travel days but necessary to include as many wildlife opportunities as possible. The variety of landscapes from one park to the next is diverse and with the help of great guides we were able to see a wide variety of Chameleons ,Lemurs and reptiles and birds. Photography was challenging but still able to come home with a selection of nice images. Madagascar was a bucket list trip for the opportunity to see wildlife that can not be found anywhere else in the world . Ending the trip with some beach time and wildlife was perfect.
Most inspiring moments was hearing the haunting calls of the Indri in Andasibe National Park and having the opportunity to watch the Verreaux's Sifaka show off their dancing skills in Isalo National Park. And to top things off getting to see 3 owls (2 species)was the icing on the cake.
Our tour leader was Bodo and she was fabulous. Knowledgeable, friendly, professional and very organized. She was great at handling the various personalities of the group and she remained calm at all times. Her nightly briefing on what to expect next day and then sent it to everyone in print as well.
My advise is if bringing USD cash to exchange be sure to bring bills that are not dated older than 2007. If older than that regardless of condition them will not accept (older than 2003) or give a lesser exchange rate(2003-2006). Also be sure you are fit as sometimes it is necessary to cover a lot of area when looking for wildlife and sometimes lots of ups and downs. Lemurs are not always in best location for viewing or photography so you need to be agile to move thru thick brush etc.
