Andes Holidays

The Andes is the longest mountain range in the world, and passes from Venezuela in the north, through Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina and Chile, where these magnificent mountains have impacted the culture as well as its geography. During our Andes holidays, visit the Atacama Desert in the north, which is the driest desert in the world sitting high on a plain and surrounded by lakes; snow-capped peaks; and the rumbling volcanos of Laguna Meñique and Miscante.

Our Andes tours not only present you with jaw-dropping scenery, but they also introduce you to the history and culture of this mountainous region. Marvel at native Indian ruins, watch gauchos herd their sheep and visit authentic Mapuche houses and farms.

Separating Chile and Argentina, the Andes Mountains forms part of Patagonia, which is one of the most diverse and beautiful regions to visit on holidays in South America. Its landscape is made up volcanoes, mountains, ancient forests and lakes and can be explored on foot or by bike. As well as discovering the magnificent scenery, you’ll also have the opportunity to see some of the native wildlife. From the cordillera foothills of the mountains, Andean condors swoop down to catch their prey, and if you are very lucky you might spot a puma or Patagonian mara.

Our cycling Andes tours of Chile and Argentina are led by an experienced guide that takes you along scenic tracks, including the Seven Lakes Road to San Martin, and through the Conguillio National Park, where you’ll ride beneath ancient monkey puzzle trees.

Andes Adventure Holidays

Our cycling adventure through the Lake District of Chile and Argentina was nothing short of extraordinary. From start to finish, it was a journey filled with breathtaking scenery, unique experiences, and unforgettable moments.
First and foremost, a huge shoutout to our incredible guide, Ale, whose passion, expertise, and energy made the trip seamless and enjoyable. His knowledge of the region, combined with his enthusiasm for sharing it, elevated every aspect of the journey.
The scenery was absolutely stunning—Patagonia at its finest. We cycled past shimmering lakes, towering snow-capped volcanoes, dense forests of monkey puzzle trees, and rolling gravel roads that offered both challenge and charm. Each day brought something new: crossing lakes by ferries, spotting tarantulas on the road, and soaking in the vast, untouched beauty of the region.
The sense of discovery was unparalleled. Every turn revealed another postcard-perfect view, from tranquil lake shores to the rugged peaks of the Andes. The gravel roads and challenging terrain were made worthwhile by the jaw-dropping vistas and the camaraderie of fellow travelers. Sharing meals and stories with the group fostered a sense of community, making the trip as much about the people as the places.
This journey through two countries was more than just a trip; it was a soul-enriching experience. It rekindled a deep appreciation for nature, adventure, and the simple joys of life.
If you’re looking to fall in love with the world again, this is the way to do it.

Laurie Dunk Patagonian Highlights

This adventure was absolutely fantastic. The rugged carved landscape is spectacular and endless and each day greeted us with a new beauty.
Fitzroy Base Camp & Torres del Paine hikes along with the optional hikes offered were great to get out and explore the area. Perito Moreno Glacier is absolutely breathtaking and it was hard to leave when the time came. An absolute must!
