In the last few years, we’ve seen an increasing rise in temperatures, particularly during the peak summer months. And because of the active nature of our Walking & Trekking and Cycling holidays, we’ve decided to create a Cool Summer Collection, that showcases destinations which are ideal to visit in July and August thanks to the historically milder, more pleasant temperatures. Trekking up steep mountain trails and tackling challenging climbs by bike are made that much harder when the temperatures spike, so why not take that problem out of the equation by choosing to travel to a destination which isn’t likely to be affected by extreme heat in the summer?
In our Cool Summer Collection, you can discover the Best of Norway, Sweden & Finland in just 11 days, visiting spectacular waterside cities and islands in the Finnish archipelago, when temperatures hover in the early twenties. Or why not head out on a cycling trip in Northern France from Normandy to Brittany, where the refreshing coastal breeze, makes this journey from traditional port towns to historic beaches particularly pleasant in the summer? During July and August in Iceland, you can soak up the midnight sun, as daylight can last from 15 to 22 hours, making it a special time to explore the country’s waterfalls, hot pools and lava fields on our Laugavegur Trek. If you’re looking for a trip closer to home, the Emerald Isle enjoys its driest and milder months in the earlier part of the summer season, making it a great time to go on our Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. We know that higher temperatures are a result of global warming caused by climate change. This is what we are doing to take action and reduce our impact.
If this has inspired you to go to cooler destinations this summer, browse our collection below!
