Okavango Delta Tours

Okavango Delta Tours

Famous for its scenes of elephants roaming the land beneath crimson sunsets and riverbanks teeming with birdlife, the Okavango Delta is one of the best places to embark on African safaris. Our Okavango Delta tours are led by expert guides who steer you among the unique and beautiful wetland wilderness which is home to some of the world’s most endangered species. It’s the largest inland delta in the world where you can see animals such as hippos, warthogs, elephants and possibly even the rare red lechwe living in the swampy habitat. This area of diverse beauty is particularly rich in bird life, including several colourful species of kingfisher and ibis, making it a great location for wildlife holidays.

During our Okavango Delta trips, you’ll travel through the narrow, reed-lined channels in a mokoro (dugout canoe), which is a thrilling adventure in itself. Gliding along with just the swish of passing undergrowth and the gentle splash of water to break the silence is a slice of heaven on Earth. The varied ecosystem here has been created by the Okavango River as it flows towards the Kalahari Desert in Botswana and it has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

At the Okavango Delta, you can see some of Mother Nature’s finest handiwork and gain a unique insight into one of Africa’s greatest untouched wildernesses. Part of the area is protected by the Moremi Game Reserve and anyone with a love of nature and wildlife will love our Okavango Delta trips.

We had undertaken safaris before but had never seen elephants, hippos or zebras in the numbers that we came across on this trip. We were lucky enough to see the Big 5, but think our guides’ knowledge had a lot to do with that. We enjoyed game drives by vehicle and got wonderful views of wildlife on Chobe/Zambeizi river trips. The 2 night full-service camping in the Okavango Delta was a once in a lifetime experience. The trip overall was very well organised and varied and far exceeded expectations, our group of 10 having gelled extremely well. So pleased we did this trip as we now have so many amazing photos and memories to treasure.

Wendy Mann Botswana & Zimbabwe Lodge Safari

We had a most enjoyable 3 weeks on this trip, and made friends on our group of ten. The camping was work, putting up our tents (with help, thanks, you know who you are !). We stayed two nights in most places, 3 in Etosha. Very early morning starts, breakfast at 7 with tents down on moving days. It was dark, and cold! However, the tents were very comfortable with beds and mattresses, and we slept really well. The food was delicious and plentiful. After long days driving, our guides turned in and cooked for us. The breakfasts were delicious too.

Helen Burrell Victoria Falls to Cape Town – Camping

A brilliant trip with every venue and activity providing an amazing chance to see many types of wildlife in their own environment and in different ways, from comfortable lodges to camping, trekking and jeep safaris, mokoro canoes and boat trips
