Meander in Guernsey along rugged cliff paths carpeted with gorse and wildflowers as the tide laps against the sweeping shoreline below.
Sark offers a truly unique holiday experience for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of modern-day life. Being a car-free Island you will only meet walkers, cyclist or horses and carriages on the Island.
Wander through wooded valleys and country lanes to birdsong, or gently amble along the marina to enjoy local food and drink at a seaside pub nestled in a French-style fishing village. As the sinking sun lights up the evening sky, paddle your tired feet in clear local waters when the day is done.
Explore these unique islands in a large splash of green and blue and get ready to be amazed!
Highlights
Walks on this holiday are gentle and flat. There are no tough climbs. Walks are through villages, woods and along coastline.
As this is a self-guided holiday, there is no group and no leader. This tour is hotel to hotel and is managed remotely by our sister company Headwater. The route notes and essential holiday information that you will receive before your holiday contain a 24-hour emergency assistance telephone number.
Please note: the walking and luggage transfers included in this tour are subject to a minimum of 2 people (in total) booked on the departure. A supplement (payable in advance) to cover these transfers and sole occupancy of a room will apply if there is only 1 person travelling on a departure date.

Explore St. Helier’s harbours, and see some of the historical locations that have shaped the harbours both old and new. During this walk enjoy fantastic views of Fort Regent, Elizabeth Castle
An optional first hike allows you to discover the wild and rocky northern coastline, around Saint John’s Church. On this walk you will reach Les Platons, the highest point of the Channel Islands, and, nestled between the high cliffs, the bays of Bonne Nuit Bay and Boulay Bay.
You stay at Hotel de France **** in St Helier (Breakfast included)
In the morning, head south of the island, towards the Pointe de Corbière and its famous lighthouse. The coastal route takes you along the immense sandy bay of Saint-Brelade. Continue to Noirmont Point, revealing the few fortifications dating from the Second World War and end at Saint-Aubin, a charming fishing village with a large sandy bay.

Today, discover the north-western coastal path : from Saint-John’s-Church to L’Etacq. Along the coastline, in the wildest environment, following the sharp coastline, you reach the Greve de Lecq, one of the most fascinating bays on the island. The route ends at the rocky Pinnacle needle.

Transfer to the harbour and boat crossing to Guernsey. Arrive at Saint-Peter’s-Port, the capital of Guernsey, its scenic harbour and its historic gardens. You will discover a natural island. Depending on your arrival time in Guernsey, you can walk to the south from Jerbourg Point. You will walk up the east coast towards Saint-Peter’s-Port and discover, among other things, Fermain Bay and its breath-taking views over the ocean, and Bluebell Wood: a dense and wild forest with varied colours.

Today, you board for one of the smallest Channel Islands: Sark. Considered the crown jewel of the Islands, Sark is a wonderful place to escape to. With no cars and unpaved roads, you can step back in time to unspoilt landscape. Today’s route leads you from ‘big Sark’ to ‘little Sark’ and the crossing of the Coupée, a spectacular rocky ridge overlooking the sea. It will be one of the highlights of your program. Boat back to Guernsey.

From Icart Point, your route heads west along the spectacular cliff path with coves, beaches, wild coastline and a moorland plateau, heather and gorse. On a clear day you can see the French coastline and the Cliff Path offers stunning views over the ocean and coastal cliffs.

Potentially, an extra night in Jersey or Guernsey will allow you to explore another island : Herm !

Your luggage will be transported between the hotels by taxi or minibus. The Sandbanks chain ferry on day 5 for walkers is free of charge and no ticket is required.
The weather is relatively mild – you can expect the weather forecast in the Channel Islands to be similar to the south coast of Britain but often slightly warmer and sunnier. The hottest days are normally found in July and August, with plenty of long sunny days with maximum temperatures often in the high 20s.

ATMs are available, but we recommend taking some GBP cash with you in case you can’t get to a bank at the start of the trip.
You will need money for lunches, snacks, drinks, dinners and entry to any sites you wish to visit. Lunches can be inexpensive if you buy them from local shops and make up a picnic, however if you stop at a pub you can easily spend £15 each. Dinner can also vary in price between £15 in a pub to £30+ in a restaurant.

By booking this trip you agree to our Booking Conditions which clearly state that our leaders have the authority to do this. In these rare instances we will ensure anyone sitting out is safely provided for and offered alternative options where possible. Refunds will not be provided for activities missed and customers may be liable for additional costs incurred.
Seatbelts
All vehicles used by us should be equipped with working seatbelts, except where approved by us based on the vehicle type or journey. Wherever seatbelts are available, we require our customers to use them for their own safety, even where it may not be a legal requirement.
When you’re ready to book, go to our website for online bookings, book over the phone or you can complete a booking form (available online or on request by calling us). We accept all major credit and debit cards, or you can pay be cheque.
After booking
You will receive your booking confirmation letter and invoice, which includes extra information and guidance about your travel arrangements.
Full joining instructions, including local emergency numbers and details of how to reach the start point, will be sent to you approximately two to three weeks prior to departure. If you do not receive these at least a week before departure, or require them earlier, please contact our office or your travel agent.
Trip Note validity
These Trip Notes are valid from the “Current as” date on page one. They will occasionally be updated after booking and before departure; if there are any updates that significantly impact the inclusions or itinerary, customers will be written to separately. They will also receive a link to the most up-to-date Trip Notes with their Final Joining Instructions before travelling.
The information in these Trip Notes is given in good faith. Where differences exist between the Trip Notes and our current brochure or website, the Trip Notes supersede the brochure and website. All holidays can be subject to unexpected changes; to enjoy them you should be prepared to be flexible where necessary. Occasionally, it may not be possible to follow the itinerary as planned. This may be for a variety of reasons – climatic, political, physical or other. In these circumstances we will make the best-possible alternative arrangements that maintain the integrity of the original itinerary.
