Who are the Foundation's governing Board Members?

DIANA TICKELL, CHAIRPERSON
Diana has a wealth of experience in the charity sector, including but not limited to, fundraising, strategy and engagement, having held senior positions at non-profits such as Barnardo’s and NABS. Diana began her career in the tourism industry and is still a passionate adventurer, enjoying cycling and discovery trips. She has also spent time volunteering in Sierra Leone, gaining a deeper understanding of delivering community-based programmes. We hope to continue developing and growing the Foundation under Diana’s leadership as Chairperson.

RICHARD ISAACS, TREASURER
An experienced Finance Director and travel industry professional, having worked with such notable brands as Kuoni and TUI Travel before joining Exodus, Richard has a passion for travel, international development, and sustainability. He is an active member in his local community (including auditing the accounts for the local primary school) and a keen cyclist.

HILARY THOMAS, TRUSTEE
An experienced fundraiser with nearly 20 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector, Hilary is a corporate partnerships specialist who is passionate about harnessing the power of the private sector to drive positive change in the world. Her career and passion for travel has taken her around the world and she looks forward to sparking the same spirit of adventure in her two young children as they grow up.

Giles has extensive experience of financial management and governance across a number of charities both large and small. He is particularly passionate about helping rural communities to thrive and prosper through economic development. Giles is also a regular Exodus client, combining his love of travelling with cycling and trekking.

Will 100% of my donation go to the local partner I have chosen to support?

Yes, your entire donation will go directly to the specific partner you have chosen. Alternatively, you can give to the Exodus Adventure Travels Foundation as a whole and we will distribute all of your donation to our trusted partners, where we feel it will have the most impact. Exodus covers all administration costs so 100% of your donation will go to our work on the ground.

Is The Exodus Adventure Travels Foundation owned by Exodus Adventure Travels?

The Exodus Adventure Travels Foundation is a completely separate entity to Exodus Adventure Travels and other financial supporters. The Exodus Adventure Travels Foundation is an independent, non-profit organisation with a board of directors who determine strategy and monitor progress. The Foundation is registered with the UK Charity Commission (Charity number 1182265).

Do you take donations from countries outside of the UK?

We certainly do! We are based in the UK, but our donors come from all over the world. You can choose to donate in a range of currencies. However, donations are eligible for a tax deduction in the UK only.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Donations from the UK are eligible for tax deduction. As most of our partners are small, grassroots organisations that are not recognised as international charities, we can’t offer tax deductions on donations made from outside of the UK.

How are the donations managed?

The Exodus Adventure Travels Foundation has a board consisting of senior staff at Exodus Adventure Travels and at least three Trustees from external organisations. The board ensures all beneficiary organisations and partners are assessed and monitored according to approved criteria. Our accounts are audited by an external, independent auditor and published annually in our annual impact report. Click here to read our latest report.

Can I leave a legacy to The Exodus Adventure Travels Foundation?

Yes, you absolutely can. Firstly, we recommend that you seek qualified legal advice when making or changing a Will. Click here for further information on leaving a legacy.

How can I keep up to date with The Exodus Adventure Travels Foundation news?

The Exodus Adventure Travels Foundation regularly shares updates about our partners and projects on our social media accounts and we send a quarterly newsletter providing a snapshot of our activities and their impact on local communities globally. Make sure to follow The Exodus Adventure Travels Foundation and the social media accounts of the partner organisations you have donated to, in order see how your donations are supporting communities, conserving nature, and providing disaster relief around the world.

How does Exodus Adventure Travels support its Foundation?

For every customer who travels with either Exodus or Headwater, Exodus Adventure Travels pays £2.50 into the Foundation. The staff costs including administration, project management, accounts and marketing are all fully covered by Exodus which means that 100% of customer donations will go to the projects that the Foundation supports.

The Exodus Adventure Travels Foundation is a registered charity in England and Wales (no. 1182265).
