The Trip of a Lifetime!!

This trip was genuinely spectacular. I went into it with so much excitement and anticipation, and came home with my expectations completely blown out the water! Somehow, every day on the trip seems to get better and better. Every day, you end off thinking ‘what else could we possibly see?’ – and somehow, the following day delivers something just as, if not more spectacular. If you have your eye on this trip and are thinking about booking – let this be the review to push you over the line in just going ahead and booking – you will NOT regret it!

Most Inspirational Moment

Walking with Rhinos in Matopos National Park, and watching the sunset next to the hippo pool in the Okovango Delta. So many other moments to share but those immediately jumped to my mind.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Brilliant. You will be grateful if you ever land with Siziba (Siza) and Gift. They go above and beyond every day to make sure everyone is getting what they paid for. Truly world-class in what they do.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Be prepared for some heat if travelling towards the end of the year, especially in the delta. Make sure to have enough cash on hand for tips. Card accessibility is great, can use your credit card almost everywhere on the trip. Bring your camera because you will not want to miss out on the amazing things you'll see.

Fantastic trip to a beautiful country

The trip was amazing. Lots of varied activities, incredible locations and hotels and great food.

Most Inspirational Moment

Climbing the Lion Rock to see 360 view of surrounding area.

Thoughts on Group Leader

He was an incredible leader who made the group gel. Lots of great information and a good sense of humour.

Advice for Potential Travellers

It’s hot, so bring lots of cooler type clothes. If you can’t eat spicy food, there are lots of western choices.

A Land of Many Landscapes

This trip was a true delight! We got to experience so many sights, smells and sounds. From the many souks in the different cities, to the quant villages in the mountains and the edge of the Sahara. Though there are long drives, there is also plenty of walking in this itinerary, all of them scenic and memorable.

Most Inspirational Moment

I loved riding the camel and viewing the sunset in the dunes of the Sahara. Be sure to take a dip in the Atlantic ocean in Essaouira!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our group leader, Oulaid, was very passionate about the environment and about his country and traditions. He was always there for the group and organised many unexpected stops along the way which helped greatly during the long driving days, which made it very bearable. Our driver, Abdul Rani, was also the sweetest and most loving man and got us all safely to where we needed to be at all times.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Accommodation is not on the same level as in Europe or other first world destinations so set your expectations accordingly. Tipping is a huge part of Moroccan culture so be prepared for this as you even need to tip a dirham or two to use loos. There are free sim cards on offer at the airport. Trust your tour leader to sort out issues on the ground if you come across any so you can have the best holiday.

Cambodia Adventure

Cambodia has been on my bucket list for some time. This trip covered all the places I wanted to visit; Phnom Peng, Kampot, Battambang and the majestic Angkor Wat. The addition of the island of Koh Rong was a bonus with its sandy beaches and crystal blue sea.

Most Inspirational Moment

The visit to the Tuol Sleng Prison Museum (S21) and the Killing Fields was a very humbling experience.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our group leader Bun was brilliant! He went above and beyond in every way, arranging everything and ensuring the restaurants understood any dietary requirement.

Advice for Potential Travellers

If arriving via air, apply for the e-card and e-visa via the Cambodia visa app, it's quick and easy. Take US dollars but make sure the notes are clean/new or they won't be accepted. You will need plenty of sunscreen and don't forget a hat.

Fabulous trip with a full itinerary

A great mix of cultural activities and stunning walks in the most incredible scenery

Most Inspirational Moment

Too many to pick just one! But my first view of the Grand Canyon and then walking down into it the following day, seeing the stunning Bryce hoodoos at sunset, and walking the Narrows in the river at Zion were my highlights. But every activity was superb.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Jay was excellent, his knowledge was impressive, and he ensured everyone in the group got what they wanted from the trip. He had a great sense of humour, and having such a friendly and experienced leader added to the overall enjoyment of the trip

Advice for Potential Travellers

In November it’s very cold, so I’d suggest bringing thermals, gloves, over-trousers, down jacket and a warm hat! Can highly recommend the Narrows river walk (waterproof kit rented from local store) and the South Kaibab trail. We also did an extra day in Las Vegas, essential if you want time to explore this vibrant city.

Great Trip, Great Group

An excellent trip with a great group and group leader. The itinerary enabled a real mix of cycling in the countryside and by the sea. It was a bit windy for a couple of days and there were a couple of testing climbs but it was all very manageable.

Most Inspirational Moment

There were a lot of them. The cycle to Cape Town via Chapmans Peak was pretty special, as were the whales in full view of the restaurant in Hermanus and it is always great to see penguins by the ocean.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Tallis did a great job leading the group, he was very experienced and found some great bars and restaurants during the trip. He and Peitrus helped us win the quiz at Charlies Garage Craft Brewery in Simonstown which was worth a five star review on it's own!

Advice for Potential Travellers

We have been on more than 10 Exodus cycle trips and the hotels on this trip were collectively the best we have stayed in. The food and wine were excellent and very good value for money. If you have not been to Cape Town before make sure you have a couple of days at the start to have a look around, and if you can go to the top of the Table Mountain it is really worth it.

Challenging yet rewarding cycling with stunning views, wine and food!

If you are after a trip that is more than just cycling, this is for you! The first 3 days are tough, but you get challenging mountain pass’s followed by exhilarating downhills. You cycling through a variety of landscapes, from coastal roads and paths, to the arid desert of the little Karoo, vast countryside and plush mountainous roads. No day is the same which is nice! The food and wine is also a big bonus.

Most Inspirational Moment

Either completing the Fransshoek Pass, being at the top before you go down the incredible downhill. Or the final ride from Simons Town to Cape Town, that was by far the most beautiful cycle and we had stunning weather. I clearly can't chose as I would also reccomend booking this trip during Whale season (July-Oct) as we saw whales breaching from our hotel at breakfast, as well as mother and calf, there were a lot of whales around and they were not shy, had some amazing viewing all from the shore, no need to book a boat trip out!

Thoughts on Group Leader

He was good, listened to the group and was flexible with restaurant choices / plans which made for a relaxing feel.

Advice for Potential Travellers

This holiday felt like it had it all, cycling of course, but you also had time in the afternoons (most but not all) to enjoy the areas and relax a bit. The food was fantastic so this felt like a challenging but also relaxing holiday, which was nice!

Amazing !

The trek far exceeded expectations and a few days rest and relaxation at the end was the icing on the cake. The variety of scenery enroute, the great team of guides and porters and the camaraderie between the group made for an all round wonderful experience . The standard of food and accommodation tho basic was surprisingly good and the pace of trekking and breaks was spot on for everyone . We were extremely well led and looked after and learned so much about this wonderful land and its people.

Most Inspirational Moment

First view of the Annapurna Range at sunrise .

Thoughts on Group Leader

Valerie was superb. Her knowledge and insight were fascinating and her caring leadership very welcome - as were her own personal trekking stories which kept us all entertained . We were blessed to have her as our leader

Advice for Potential Travellers

Follow what to bring list carefully and do a bit of pre trek training to be ready for the endless steps - up and down !

A wonderful exploration of a part of the US that has a ton to offer

The trip itinerary was well thought out. A great journey through some very diverse and fascinating towns and cities, with good food, warm people, amazing music, history, civil rights and varied experiences along the way. I honestly wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I did and I don’t think I’ve ever learned so much on a holiday before. The Mississippi Delta is fascinating.

Most Inspirational Moment

There so many great experiences on this trip that it's hard to choose. Overall, the music! But also the Civil Rights Museum in Memphis is wonderful.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Mike is a truly superb trip leader. Simply the best! Great driver, fun, unflappable and extremely knowledgeable. He MADE the trip - 100%. The drives from one city to another were fascinating thanks to his commentary, deep knowledge of music and history and wonderful playlists. He didn't just recommend places we could visit for music and great food, he took us there. If you followed his suggestions you really couldn't go wrong. He went above and beyond. I'd be happy to do any other trip that he was guiding, irrespective of destination.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Definitely spend extra days pre-trip in New Orleans. There's so much to do. Make sure you tip everyone who's working. It's non-negotiable. This might make it a more expensive trip than you thought so be prepared. It's well worth going to the Grand Ole Opry. If you love jazz, blues, rock and roll or country music you have to do this trip (and even if you don't, you will by the time it's over!)

Once in a life time!

Simply lovely! Beautiful hikes, stunning location and a great guide!

Most Inspirational Moment

Standing on top of MT. Vesuvius. Walking the "Path of the gods!". The people in my group!

Veriano Verde

Advice for Potential Travellers

Its more than just a hiking trip, but don't forget your hiking boots!
