A challenging, beautiful, bucket list trek.
This was a most memorable trek and comes highly recommended. It is far less crowded than other routes in the Alps and this brings a real sense of ‘getting away from it all”. The views are spectacular and surprisingly varied (boulder fields, snow, glacial landscapes etc.). The trek is, however, quite challenging due to the duration of each day; there really is no let up. A significant portion of our group did not complete the full route, as it is very “full on”. But if you are fit, don’t have significant issues with vertigo and comfortable with very long ascents and descents, it is really a fabulous experience.
There was a late snow melt this year, so there were sections which required micro spikes but this was an added bonus and added a real sense of achievement. The food was of high quality and generously proportioned. The tents were spacious and the mountain huts were a fun experience (though not great for sleep!).
Overall, a really wonderful trip.
Most Inspirational Moment
There are too many to choose from, each day brought spectacular views, challenging ascents and new experiences. Reaching the remote hut at Louvie and the walk through the glacier landscape to the Prafleuri Hut were probably the pinnacle.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Agustin was an exceptional leader- kind, endlessly patient, good humoured and also very skilful. There are some tricky/challenging moments on this trek but Agustin was very safety conscious and inspired confidence.
Advice for Potential Travellers
This Is quite a challenging trip , mostly because every day is long and there is only one rest day in the middle. So do make sure you are up for 20+km of walking and upwards of 1500m ascents/descents day after day. It is absolutely worth it but several very fit, experienced hikers in our group struggled, due to the pace and duration of the trek. Also, the descents are often through long boulder fields, which some found very tough going.

Wonderful experience in Africa
Both countries are amazing, and our two guides were superb. We were fortunate to see all the ‘Big 5’ and learned so much about African culture, history as well as seeing the flora and fauna of this fantastic country.
Most Inspirational Moment
Wild-camping in the Okavango Delta where you walk on their level, and listen to the hyenas, hippos, and lions nearby during the night.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Trymore was the best Exodus leader we've ever had (aided by Adonio). He was full of knowledge, he got to know each of the group individually and we always felt cared for and safe.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Bring small denomination US dollars for tips, and lots of insect repellent (but the insects were kind in July).

Stunning landscape, fascinating guide
An under-appreciated gem. The mountains are stunning, the walking is moderate and achievable in breathtaking scenery, and we saw very few other people on any of the walks. Lots of additional interest in terms of flora and fauna, and the tour guide (Svetla) was extremely knowledgeable on a wide range of subjects, patient and had a great sense of humour.

Cape Town to Victoria Falls
The adventure was amazing. Small group of 11. Everyday was so different from the last. I really liked driving through the countries even though sometimes the roads weren’t the best (was prepared for that). The wildlife we saw was beautiful! The hotels were fine.
Most Inspirational Moment
Watching the lions walk near us and the cubs playing with each other!
Thoughts on Group Leader
Peter and Ende were great! Boy, they could spot wildlife! They were good cooks for our breakfasts and lunches!
Advice for Potential Travellers
We were advised to take a soft kit (duffle bag). Everyone had a suitcase with wheels. Leave the duffle bag at home! Credit cards worked every where and ATM’s were available.

Great walking in a serene setting
The hotel is in an excellent location, just on the edge of a small town, either looking at meadows at the back, or some fantastic mountain views in the front. Get back from a walk and sit in that front garden with views like that with a cold beer and your fellow walkers (who were such a fun bunch on this trip!), doesn’t get much better than that! Comfy rooms too. Charming staff, everyone was always very approachable and personable and nothing was ever too much trouble -not just for the owners, everyone, really. Great food, with sometimes variable portion sizes, but always very very well cooked.
The walking was varied, some days rockier terrain, some days quite muddy, some days a mix of everything – no complaints in that regard. I think appropriately graded as well. Day 1 really did feel just like a warm-up walk, the most featureless of them all, both in terms of terrain and scenery. Not a bad walk by any means, but nowhere near as good as the other four days. Whenever there was an optional ascent/scramble on any of the walks, the bail-out point was always well chosen.
The biggest surprise of the whole trip was how quiet and serene it all was! Hardly ever seen anyone else apart from our own group (minus the Cares Gorge, that is definitely a very popular walk), just made all the walks incredibly peaceful. Of course that might depend on the time of year, but we were very lucky with that in the first half of July.
Most Inspirational Moment
Day 2. It just had so many vistas, one in particular where you get up a summit and you are really taken aback by the mountains sprawling out in front of you.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Tomas was a really nice guy, very knowledgable about flora and fauna and anything in the local area, being local himself.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Choose canoeing on the River Sella on the free day - we had such a blast! And don't forget to try the local cheese.

Fantastic way to see an amazing places
Alaska is incredible. This trip is well paced, visits three fantastic areas, and by camping you really feel you’re in the wilderness. If you’re into the outdoors and want to go somewhere really different, this is the trip for you!
Most Inspirational Moment
Seeing the Harding Icefield appear after hiking up past a glacier to reach it.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Mike was one of, if not the best tour leader I have ever experienced. Chilled out, informative, ran the tour smoothly and a really nice guy.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Be ready for the weather to change at short notice!

Amazing Trip in the Amazon, on the Inca Trail to Machu Pichu and Lake Titicaca.
3 nights in the Amazon were unbelievable, so much to see and do and our Amazon guide Roland was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. He made everything easy.
Hiking the Inca Trail through the scenery of the Andes mountains was awesome and our guide Ollie was also amazing at looking after us and explaining the history of pre Inca civilisations and the Incas.
Our home stay with villagers on Lake Titicaca was also a fantastic experience, watching the sunset and learning about their lifestyle on Amantani island.
Also the time spent in Lima, Cusco and Puno was also very enjoyable for more of a city feel and they are beautiful cities.
Most Inspirational Moment
The whole time in the Amazon, seeing animals in their own natural habitat was my highlight.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Ollie (Holger) was amazing for the entire 15 days. He was knowledgeable, friendly, hard working. He took care of everything with minimal fuss. Even his restaurant recommendations were perfect everytime. I can’t talk highly enough about him.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Don’t hesitate to book this. It covers so much and it really is an unforgettable trip.
