Hvar is one of the more popular Croatian islands, many lured by the fashionable port town of the same name. Throughout its warren of streets are ancient buildings, gothic palaces and restaurant upon restaurant selling seafood delicacies. It’s this combination that makes visitors fall in love with Hvar, not to mention the natural beauty of its pristine coastline and lavender fields. To get a real sense of the town’s history, walk along the medieval walls or climb up to the fortress that stands at the top of the hill.
Korčula
While Korčula is known for sprawling vineyards and wineries, there’s lots more to it. Picture sleepy villages, olive groves and flower-filled meadows where you can immerse yourself in alluring scenery. Often called Little Dubrovnik, the island’s town of the same name is wrapped inside medieval walls, where authentic restaurants and bars are tucked among cobbled streets. Pupnat is the oldest village on the island, with just 500 inhabitants, a parish church and a local bar, and gives you an insight into both its past and modern life.
Brač
This scenic island is popular with walkers wanting to explore rocky beaches and dramatic mountains, lush vineyards and ancient forests. The largest of the islands in Dalmatia, Brač also hosts the highest mountain in the Adriatic, Vidova Gora. On your travels, you’ll learn about the island’s rich history, which dates back to neolithic times when it was first inhabited. Be sure to try the locally grown olives, produced here since the 17th century.
Mljet
Mljet is enchanting – largely unspoilt landscapes, azure waters and hushed forests lure walkers to its shores. Approximately one-third of the island is covered by a national park, which offers an insight into a small piece of Croatia’s heritage. If you want to go in search of spectacular views, head into the hills where sprawling coastal panoramas unfold.

This walking holiday combines Croatia's rich cultural heritage and its amazing natural beauty.
This trip was absolutely amazing! The route was beautifully planned, with breathtaking coastal views, island villages, and so much natural beauty. Cycling through the islands of Hvar and Korcula was a highlight, and ending in the stunning city of Dubrovnik was the perfect finale. Plus, taking a swim in the sea after a long day of biking was the best way to cool off. It was a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation—highly recommend it!
I have never been to Croatia and did not know what to expect and was wonderfully surprised! It is a beautiful country with so much history and natural beauty. There is a lot of Italian architectures, beautiful beaches and history. The walks were gentle walks except went walking up the peak of Montokuc on Mljet Island which is challenging but there are other things to do on the Island. The food was amazing and produce locally. There is a good choice of vegetarian and vegan meals. I would definitely recommend this trip as it’s a nice introduction to Croatia.
Identifying the specific thing that makes this trip memorable is impossible. Croatia’s vibe is uniquely its own. The country and it’s people are welcoming, cosmopolitan, small town warmth, pragmatic and joyful all at once.
There’s was not a single second that was disappointing. The small group focus of the tour allowed for connecting with other tour members which enhanced the experience. Visiting small local businesses like the winery in Ston and Lumbarda felt like we were being welcomed into their homes.
Our tour leader was the amazing Vajna! If you are blessed to have her as your guide rest assured you are in fantastic hands, she is thoughtful, full of knowledge and I simply cannot say enough about Vajna or this trip!
I’ve been home for a week and have not stopped smiling.
