What happens if FCDO advice for a particular destination changes (both in weeks before the trip and during the trip)?
Our expert teams across all of our global destinations are constantly reviewing the latest FCDO travel advice, entry requirements for key nationalities, and restrictions on return travel so you are always well informed.
When it comes to your trip, we review the status of your destination at 11 weeks and 7 weeks before travel, so we can keep you updated and informed every step of the way on the current status of your trip. When necessary, our teams will make final decisions to operate or cancel at 7 weeks before travel.
If under any circumstances the latest FCDO advice, entry requirements or restrictions on return to travel prohibit you from traveling, after we have confirmed your trip is going to operate, we will offer transfers, credits, or refunds to customers.
Paying full balances/ when will I know if my trip is going ahead/ when will it be guaranteed?
If your trip is confirmed to go ahead, your balance will be due 13 weeks / 90 days before travel. If we have not been able to confirm that your trip will proceed at that point, your balance will be due once our teams have checked and confirmed that the latest FCDO advice, entry requirements, or restrictions on return to travel will not prohibit your trip, which is normally no later than 7 weeks.
Tests – what tests do I need, where are they from and how much are they?
Depending on your chosen destination, you may need a PCR test to enter, even if you are fully vaccinated when you travel. At the time of writing, the government requires that tests are also needed before and after your return travel to the United States.
To help you navigate these travel changes we provide 3 useful resources to guide you through the testing process that you will need for your trip.
- The Exodus Travel Hub provides a link to check the very latest entry requirements for your destination, based on your nationality.
- Our Country Specific Travel Guides also gives you specific entry requirements for that country and includes a useful checklist for pre and post-travel requirements and tests so that you are fully informed and prepared when you depart and return from your trip.
Will I have to wear a mask?
We will always follow the government requirements or guidance of the country you are visiting. Your tour leader will explain the latest requirements at the start of the trip and offer helpful reminders to the group throughout the trip as needed.
Will everyone on the trip be vaccinated?
We have introduced a ‘COVID-clear’ policy, which ensures that everyone in the group is either fully vaccinated or has tested negative just before travel. You can find the full details of our policy in the Exodus Travel Hub. Your tour leader on the trip will also be either fully vaccinated or regularly tested.
What happens if I get covid before/ on the trip?
Our industry-leading COVID-19 refund promise allows our customers to book with confidence. We provide a full refund for anyone who tests positive for COVID, including those who are required to self-isolate through contact with a positive case, in instances where your travel insurance policy may not provide suitable cover.
What kind of travel insurance do I need?
We strongly recommend you choose a travel insurance policy that includes cover for COVID-related issues, which most travel insurance policies now offer. However, we encourage our customers to check the terms and conditions carefully, especially the differences between policies in terms of cancellations and medical cover for COVID reasons.
