Fantastic experience
The trip benefitted from an amazing bunch of like minded people and a brilliant tour leader. Add to that the backdrop of Vietnam and it couldn’t fail to deliver.

The food! The food was AMAZING. I now love tofu. I never thought I would utter these words….

Tu was the best. He was a great communicator and very funny !
Advice for Potential Travellers
Take a lightweight sleeping bag for the train because you will need the quilt to lie on as the beds are rock hard. Laundry is easy to do everywhere.

Very varied, comfortable and fun!
Although it’s only twelve days, there’s lots of variety in this trip. There’s time on safari, some nice coastal walks, some bird watching, a relaxing wine tasting Sunday, a great city break in Cape Town and penguins! There are only really two travel days and the accommodation is indeed premium. The main stops (2 nights) were all great, especially Amakhala and De Hoop which have real style. Stellenbosch is very good and has plenty of space for relaxing after all the wine tasting. We had a good group and a great guide. And the food and drink in south Africa is great too.

- When the rhino appeared during sundowners on the first day!
- The Point walk in Robberg nature reserve; see below
- Cape Town from Table Mountain

Petro was great. Friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Also great planning - based on the weather forecast, she tweaked the itinerary so that when we went up Table Mountain we had sunshine and views instead of cloud and rain!
Advice for Potential Travellers
South Africa is quite a long way for 12 days. We asked Exodus to add an extra night in Cape Town (Blackheath Lodge is a great hotel). Cape Town is easy to get around in if you use Uber and there is plenty to see. We then added our own additional week away. With Joburg being a hub airport, it's easy to go somewhere else in or near Africa if you have the time. We chose to go to St Helena in the South Atlantic which was on my bucket list!

One of the best experiences of my life!
Jordan and Petra in particular has been on my bucket list for a while and this trip did not disappoint. I was blessed to be a part of a small group and we all got on so well, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
Most Inspirational Moment
Too many, though the two days we spent in a nearly-empty Petra were just breath-taking. If you can make it up to Monastery and/or the High Place of Sacrifice you will be well rewarded with stunning scenery along the way. The High Place of Sacrifice is a slightly easier climb, and the long walk down through the Wadi was spectacular. Nothing really beats the feeling of anticipation walking down the deserted Siq and seeing the Treasury peak out from behind the canyon. The preservation of Jerash was incredible, exploring was a close second to Petra.
Thoughts on Group Leader
We were a small but lively group and Mikhled did an amazing job keeping us all entertained and happy. He went out of his way to answer our questions and showed us loads of historic images about how the sites we had visited were discovered. He kept us organised with all the different trip options, which was no mean feat. I'd love to go on this trip again but would have to guarantee Mikhled was the leader.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Pack a small bag for the transfer into Wadi Rum as your suitcase won't be going with you, and if you are a winter departure pack layers! Also another small bag with swimming gear for Aqaba as you'll go straight from Wadi Rum to the Read Sea resort. It's a action-packed itinerary, so just embrace it and sleep either on the mini or back home. I did all the optional extras - Petra by Night, Little Petra, camel rides in Wadi Rum, snorkelling in Aqaba and Bethany-by-the-Jordan and do not regret a single thing. Jordan is not a cheap country but doing all these really added to my enjoyment of the trip and the experience as a whole.

Beautiful and busy Sri Lanka
This trip was a good tour of the island with a mix of cultural sites (Sigiriya, temples, Buddhist villages etc) with wildlife sites (some river/lake tours) and two opportunities for safaris in the national park. It was quite busy at times and although we stayed in some amazingly beautiful (and expensive!) hotels we didn’t always get the chance to appreciate them. Lots of big chain hotels which feels a little away from the small group ethos. The Guide was brilliant and the transport excellent – although it was a large coach.
Most Inspirational Moment
Looking over the mountains from our hotel balcony in Ella - most beautiful scenery.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Brilliant. Very knowledgeable, patient and good sense of humour.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Don't be afraid to opt out of activities and spend some time looking round the area by yourself.

Beautiful Sri Lanka!
What a truly beautiful country, filled with beautiful people. With so much to experience in a relatively short space of time, this is the way to do it. It’s a packed schedule and very ‘full on’ although we did have an air conditioned coach with driver and assistant for the entire trip making all transfers and trips very easy. No stress there. Some days were early starts and occasional late finishes so limited the time spent at the hotels for relaxation, however you can always make the decision to drop out of some activities. I took part in all of the planned activities, opted out of the optional whale watching, resulting in just one full day of very welcome down time at the beach. We were warmly greeted at each hotel, usually with a drink or flower and made to feel welcome.
Most Inspirational Moment
There are many inspiring moments and if I have to choose it has to be the elephant transit home! Who can not be inspired by the kindness and work done to protect these majestic animals and how gorgeous are they??

Hiti gets top marks from me! He started the holiday with a smile when we met at the airport and that didn't change throughout the whole trip. I believe this was the first time this particular trip had been run so there were a few miscommunications that he dealt with very swiftly. His knowledge of his country is to be commended, he was asked many questions during our two weeks and was easily able to answer them all.
Advice for Potential Travellers
I would definitely recommend this trip. I went as a solo traveller and had the opportunity to meet a group of like minded people who were generous with their time to ensure I wasn't left to eat alone on the evenings where the meal wasn't provided. I can honestly say I enjoyed the company of all them.

Brilliant Trip - So much history!
This trip was truly amazing. We saw so much, and the tour leader who was an Egyptologist was just brilliant. All the accommodations were top-notch, the cruise was out of this world. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Discover Costa Rica (incl stay at Piedras Blancas)
Just recently returned from a fantastic tour of Costa Rica and its natural wonders. This was our very first tour taken with Exodus tour and given our experience we are sure to consider Exodus in our future travel plans.
My wife and I were the two token Canadians in the group. We had a wonderful bunch of tour mates who all shared a light hearted sense of humour and concern for our world.
The central location of the Hotel Presidente – our first and last night accommodation – was ideal as it allowed us to readily partake in several of the sites of San Jose (all within walking distance). The two night stay in each location worked out perfectly. The “Eco” accommodations were top notch and not detached from nature like a 4-star hotel would be. Nor were we “roughing it”.
The activities were not too taxing. We enjoyed the fact that our daily activities typically did not start before 8am. We were Initially concerned that the tour might not be active enough for us, however, there was often the option to do more or less.
Thanks to the keen eye and in-depth knowledge of our Guide Jorge Lizano Suarez, we observed a wealth of wildlife. His enthusiasm was evident as he continued to add to our group’s running list of “must see” flora and fauna.
Most Inspirational Moment
Learning how the government and residents of Costa Rica have been able to make protection of wildlife and biodiversity a top priority, as well as their 99% supply of renewable energy.
Thoughts on Group Leader
In a single word - fantastic. Jorge not only took care to ensure our safety but also truly cared that we all had our expectations met. His passion for his country and his job was palpable. He told us that at the end of the tour we would “be a family” and under his guidance that was indeed the case.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Telephoto lens camera would be advisable if one wants to bring back exceptional closeups of the wildlife, although Jorge was most accommodating to enable us to take pictures of animals with our phone cameras through his spotting scope.

A country of astonishing contrasts
We’re just back from a fascinating two weeks exploring this huge and beautiful country. Sand, mountains, ancient tombs, heritage villages, modern cities, great food for veggies like us – and a genuinely warm welcome from everyone we met. What a special trip it was to be some of the first tourists. Exodus leader Sara and local guide Samir were exceptional, our fellow travellers were great company and the hotels all good. Long days of travel – but worth it to see so much of the Kingdom.

Great manta experiences
A very enjoyable week on the Felicity in the Maldives snorkelling, diving, island visits, a couple of very interesting talks and a fun evening of entertainment.
Most Inspirational Moment
Diving and snorkelling with mantas, up very close and playful.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Zaff was very enthusiastic and tried very hard to make it a great trip for everyone.
Advice for Potential Travellers
We spent 3 lengthy sessions in our dhoni over 2 days searching for whale sharks and found none. There are alot of boats looking for manta and whale sharks and at times sightings are a scrum. If you are a diver, it is worth taking the opportunity to dive. The coral isn't what it used to be but there are lots of fish varieties, hawksbill turtles, sharks. Getting up so close to the mantas for so long was very special. You don't need to bring any equipment, it is all supplied. If you do pack your own don't bother bringing short fins, they are not suitable. If you want mobile coverage during the week buy a pre-paid sim at the airport. If you don't do that the captain will provide wifi on the last day so you can do the Maldives exit form and checkin online. I am not a great sailor but the sea conditions were not too uncomfortable, the worst times are the channel crossings at the beginning and end of the trip. The transfer to the Felicity on arrival day is at 12pmish. If you arrive earlier, you will be taken to a waiting area whist the group gathers and the boat is got ready. I had to hunt for a fair while to find Zaff and the Exodus sign at arrivals so keep looking.
