Incredible trip, wildlife and people

Absolutely loved this trip – scenery and wildlife was incredible and Zaff and the crew went all out to make it one of the best weeks of our lives

Most Inspirational Moment

Swimming with three whale sharks in 30 mins, the manta rays at the cleaning station - but in general the underwater life is fantastic

Thoughts on Group Leader

Zaff was great, he lifts up those around him. At the beginning he told us he would try and give us the best week of our lives which was a great start! He's a charismatic and open guy who taught us a lot about the Maldives outsude of the honeymoon resort experience. I felt we got a much more authentic experience - visiting local islands, hearing about life there. We watched documentaries and also had speakers from NGOs. In the water he is a graceful swimmer who makes everyone feel safe. He worked hard alongside the other excellent members of the crew to make sure we saw as much as possible but not at the expense of the welfare of the animals or the reefs. Big shout out as well to our other snorkeling / diving companions Shafi and Hussein!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Just do it! The boat is not a 5 star resort but the guys kept the boat clean and changed bins in the bathroom twice a day, and made up the rooms morning and evening. The Sri Lankan chef and waiter worked very hard - nothing was too much trouble - and I loved the exciting array of dishes we got at every meal. You definitely need a rash vest if you are Caucasian plus a factor 50 sunblock or you will burn.

Wow! So grateful for this adventure!

Vietnam and Cambodia have long been on my list of countries to visit, and I have to say that seeing them with Exodus exceeded expectations. I felt that this tour encompassed so many places and experiences, and the Trip Notes did not do justice to all that we really saw. Our tour included the gritty and gorgeous, surreal and surprising. The word that kept repeating was “unexpected”; these countries and their people surprised us in the best of ways. These two countries have much to share in terms of history, natural beauty, and cities in motion! So much of our enjoyment of our trip was due to the hard work, care, and patience of our guides, Bon and Chesda, and the easy friendships formed with our fellow travelers on the tour! Our accommodations were comfortable and convenient and the logistics smooth. I still have so much to process from all I saw and learned. I’m also already thinking about where to go next! I’d absolutely travel with Exodus again.

Most Inspirational Moment

So hard to choose! Exploring Ha Long Bay was such a treat! I had no idea that we would be kayaking by the pearl farm or exploring caves that looked like something out of a Star Wars movie set! Having time to just roam around each city was amazing, but we also loved how knowledgable our leaders were in what they offered as ideas or additions. One of those--the bike ride outside of Hoi An--was particularly memorable.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our leaders were AMAZING! In Vietnam, Bon was so knowledgable and flexible. Not only did he give us so much information, but he shared his own stories to really illustrate the history of his country. Then, when our group needed places to eat or experiences to check out, he had great recommendations. When a member of our party also had some last-minute changes she needed to make for health reasons, Bon got her on a train in lieu of an internal flight and even helped her out at a pharmacy. He could not have been more calm and accommodating. Similarly, Chesda in Cambodia was fantastic!! Her humor put us all at ease and she was calm when we again had to make some changes due to health reasons to our party's plan. She again was willing to share personal stories to really help explain her country's history. She was very informative and so helpful with any recommendations about sites to see or information to share. We felt very grateful to both of these guides for helping our groups understand these two amazing countries and get so much out of our time there. Both Bon and Chesda also had AMAZING logistic and timing skills--we kept arriving to places, whether the caves, the TiTop island overlook, sunrise at Angkor Wat, or the CuChi tunnels at the perfect times to avoid the major crowds or wait times. We could not have asked for better guides, who filled up our time together with interesting facts, pertinent personal stories, delicious lunch and dinner suggestions, and flexibility when situations arose. Most importantly, their perspectives helped to change our own outlooks, making this voyage a truly memorable experience.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Just be prepared for any adventure--an open mind served us all so well, and our group quickly connected because of a shared respecting interest in each other's experiences and previous travels! Also, be prepared in terms of temperature range! Just say yes to any ideas thrown your way--you will not be disappointed. The tour notes give an outline of what to expect, but the guides really fill the time with dinners together and great activity suggestions. We never felt as though we didn't have something to see, learn, or experience.

Highlights of the Amalfi Coast

Nice hotel with very friendly staff. About an hour from anywhere! Weather poor so visibility very limited at times. Could not visit, or even see, Capri or take the planned boat trip.

Most Inspirational Moment

Visits to Herculaneum and Pompeii. Fortunately it did not rain during the visits.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Excellent. Despite the poor weather he made alternative arrangements. He was very knowledgeable about the area and has a good senses of humour, which countered some of the disappointment caused by the weather.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Take a brolly.

Excellent cultural trip

Incredible immersion in the Japanese culture

Most Inspirational Moment

Walking the trail and passing small stalls selling fruit and various other foods from the local farms

Thoughts on Group Leader

Son is very, very good at his job. His and his team's calm manner, unstinting hard work and generosity are why I will book with Exodus again in the future.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Be ready for the heat and humidity

Does what it says on the tin

A lot of cycling with some very long routes

Most Inspirational Moment

It was all inspiring, even Ankor Watt was just one of many temples.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Rit was furst class, a very good group leader

Advice for Potential Travellers

Keep a eye on you money, I had about £200 stolen from my bum bag, most likely from my room in one of the longer stay hotels. As it wasn't my daily money so I didn't find out until unpacking at home.

Accurate

Mayan ruins and the reef off the coast of Belize

Most Inspirational Moment

Tikal

Thoughts on Group Leader

Excellent. The night before we returned to Belize from Guatemala, our guide, Jorge, suggested an early start to make sure we could get to the crossing point early and not join a huge queue (we'd seen it on the way in). We duly got up for an early start with our packed breakfasts provided by the hotel and made it to the crossing point for it to open. By the time we got to the front the queue was well over double the length and the day already starting to get hot. A brilliant move on our guides part. Additionally, very knowledgeable on the bird life and generally keen to show us his country.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Beware the humidity, take very lightweight clothing, including some with long sleeves. Keep drinking the water. You will need more than you realize.

What a trip, fabulous day after day.

We had such a good time in Vietnam. The guide V was superb, so professional, really interesting and telling us about the historical and cultural aspects as well as what we were doing. His enthusiasm and pride in Vietnam was contagious. We went to so many different places and experiences. Each day I thought we had the highlight of the trip and the next day was fantastic as well, so varied in activities, scenery, weather and modes of transport.

Most Inspirational Moment

Hard to chose between the trek with the lovely hill tribe women helping us, the hot tubs in the homestay, feeling so off the beaten track. Cat Ba and kayaking in Halong bay, magical. The caves were enormous and extraordinary, really beautiful. We went to the water puppets in Hanoi and the AO show in HCMC. Both amazing.

Thoughts on Group Leader

See above, such a lovely person, so helpful in every regard to make the trip perfect for us all.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Go!! Take good walking boots for the hike. Not much time to chill but good to do everything.

Exhausting, Exhilarating, Incredible India

A non stop trip round the highlights

Most Inspirational Moment

Seeing Tiger and 3 cubs in the wild

Thoughts on Group Leader

Excellent ,very knowledgeable although he often talked for far longer than the group concentrated for

Advice for Potential Travellers

Food is relatively cheap but If you do all the optional trips it will be an extra £200 + This is NOT a leisurely tour, its just not very active .I hadnt realised the journeys would be so long ,many early starts late nights and corresponding lack of sleep

This trip is worth 7 stars!!!!

Wow, what an adventure! AMAZING GUIDE, AMAZING GROUP, AMAZING COUNTRY AND DELICIOUS FOOD!!!

Most Inspirational Moment

From the moment we landed, it was an adventure that kept on giving - every day was magical in its own unique way. I'm sure each person in our group pinched ourselves to say 'is this really real' and guess what, it was!! The whole trip exceeded our expectations from start to finish!

Thoughts on Group Leader

There aren't enough superlatives to describe 'V' - what a gentleman - well read, knowledgeable, funny, kind and sincere. What a lovely man - we were blessed to have him as our guide and his presence was the icing on our cake - Surely a top candidate for 'Leader of the Year' award!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Don't hesitate, you will love every second of it! Oh and be prepared for the most most delicious food ever!
