FAQs on Vietnam Holidays
Vietnam is in Southeast Asia on the Indochina Peninsula. It’s located to the south of China and east of Laos, Thailand, and Cambodia.
According to the British government, Vietnam is a safe country to travel to with most visits being trouble-free. But as with anywhere you visit abroad, you must remain vigilant at all times. This means not handing your passport over to third-party businesses as a guarantee for items like motorcycle rentals and always keeping an eye on your belongings – especially in crowded areas.
Vietnam uses Indochina Time (ICT) which is seven hours ahead of UK time.
Direct flights from London to Hanoi take roughly 11 hours but this can change depending on the weather and other external factors. You can always get in touch with our team for more detail about the journey time for your Vietnam tour.
At the time of writing, there are just two entry requirements to get into Vietnam. They are proof of a negative COVID test result and a valid passport. You no longer need to be vaccinated to enter the country and you may stay in Vietnam for 15 days without having to apply for a visa. Tourists wishing to stay longer will have to apply for a visa through an online portal.
Entry requirements may be reviewed in the future, so it’s always a good idea to check them through the UK government website before booking your trip to Vietnam.
Although Cambodia borders southern and eastern Vietnam, the weather can vary depending on which parts you visit. During January and February, you’ll enjoy comfortable weather in the south of Cambodia whereas more central and northern parts of Vietnam can be cooler and wetter at this time of year. To avoid the monsoon season in Cambodia, consider travelling outside of June to October. However, in southern Vietnam, the monsoon season lasts from May to November.
The weather can vary depending on where you want to book Vietnam tours. In the south, the dry season takes place between December and April. Whereas the rainy season is from May to November and tends to be short bursts interspersed with sunshine. Regardless of the rain showers, May to August is a great time to explore central Vietnam.

Here you’ll discover some of the most significant cultural and religious sites in the world and there are also plenty of bird-watching opportunities. But if you love to hit the beach or hang out in vibrant cities where you can sample traditional street foods, you should probably opt for Vietnam.
