Norfolk Holidays
Sitting on the eastern tip of England, Norfolk’s windswept marshes, birdlife-rich sands and picture-perfect seaside towns are bound to impress. Its expansive coastline boasts spectacular quays dotted with colourful beach huts on Wells-Next-The-Sea, birdlife-rich sands in the Snettisham RSPB Reserve, hosts of seal colonies near Blakeney Point and delicious crab and traditional fish & chip eateries in Cromer.
So, why not explore the spectacular coastal scenery of North Norfolk on two wheels on our Highlights of Norfolk Cycling trip? Your adventure begins by pedalling through the tree-fringed avenues of the Sandringham Estate and on towards the beautiful Snettisham RSPB Reserve. With visits to Houghton Hall and the Norfolk Coast AONB, you’ll enjoy a two-night stay at the charming Georgian market town of Holt, where you can visit the Steam Museum, known for the world’s largest collection of steam engines. From here, you can head further towards Cromer or end your adventure admiring the windmills on an unforgettable boat trip across the Norfolk Broads.
On our Norfolk Photography weekend, you can join our award-winning photographer and avid conservationist, Paul Goldstein to capture the spectacular tide at the Snettisham RSPB Reserve. During certain times of the year, if you’re lucky, you may be able to witness tens of thousands of birds flying across the shingle beach at dawn. Known to the locals as the “Snettisham Spectacular”, the sight of wading birds flying off the mudflats from fast incoming tides is a spectacle to behold and has made it onto the top birdwatching “must-see’s” in the UK. On your trip, you might also spot black-headed gulls and avocets swooping along the coast or barn owls hunting over the saltmarsh come dawn. Following different trails around the Snettisham RSPB Reserve, you’ll find areas steeped in history, untouched from the Second World War and saline lagoons that are home to some interesting wildlife.
