Cycle the Coastal Portuguese Camino
We are doing 3 exodus trips in a row. First 2 were excellent!
Most Inspirational Moment
Camino - everyday!
Thoughts on Group Leader
Alberto was an exceptional guide. His insight and compassion for our very large group was fantastic. He had to juggle a vast range of cycling abilities and fitness, on what was, for some, a challenging ride - and he did that well! Alberto is a warm human, passionate aout his country, the camino and other cultures. We have had a few Exodus guides now, and Alberto rates very highly!

Great trip, the best cycle leader ever, safe cycle routes, good hotels, and great food
Small groups with similar interests, local leaders with great experience, responsibility, they really care about about the participants, safety and fun
Most Inspirational Moment
Every had its own highlight: cycling along the beautiful coastline, conquer the brutal head winds, exciting crossing of the Mino river to Spain, as the booked boat transfer did not run that day; though climbs to Pontevedra, beautiful countryside to Padron, and finally the well deserved arrival in Santiago.
Thoughts on Group Leader
I have done many cycle trips with Exodus (>30) and Alfonso is the best guide I ever experienced on a trip. I met Alfonso 7 years ago on a cycle trip in Mallorca, and I was happily surprised that he was our cycle leader in this trip. Alfonso has everything what makes a great cycle leader: very knowledgeable, concerned about safety of group, making right decisions to safeguard the participants, very sociable and interactive with cyclists; always there to provide support, tips when needed.

A good trip with some concerns.
A good trip up to Exodus usual high standards but some concerns about cycling on what is essentially a path for walkers. Also the scenery is not as spectacular as other trips we have done.
Most Inspirational Moment
Arriving in the main square in Santiago
Thoughts on Group Leader
Very good.
Advice for Potential Travellers
There are better trips in the Exodus cycling catalogue. Care needs to be taken when cycling on the footpath particularly at the narrow points or when it is crowded.

Portuguese Camino cycle
A really excellent and well-run cycle trip from Porto to Santiago de Compostela
Most Inspirational Moment
Quite a thrill to enter the noisy cathedral square at the end of the trip to join all the other travellers in celebrating successful Camino trips.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Our tour leader was first class. He kept us cyclists moving, yet was conscious to warn us of hazards and generally took care of us. He was also good fun to be with.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Be patient with the Camino walkers. Also there are a lot of cobbled roads in Portugal, so have good padded shorts and be prepared to stand up a little on the pedals on bumpier sections.
